The API also allows for retrieving information about bots, subreddits, and users. Lazybot is a moderator for SOTD and contributes a post every day. Lazybot's bot's name is "lazybot" and was created by jimmysilver. The bot was originally an account made to automatically respond to submissions in /r/AskReddit with the phrase “Why are you doing this?” or “This is stupid” when the title of the submission does not appear to be a question. The idea started in 2011, when reddit user jimmysilver was casually browsing reddit and noticed the phrase, ‘Why are you doing this?’ being posted in response to submissions that were not questions. Lazybot was created so that laspredditors would have someone to talk to when they were bored. As laspreddivers went on to create their own bots, laspredditors created their own bots, and now there are over 2,300 different bots on reddit! As lazybot became more popular, it has been used by many redditors, most notably "lazy_robot" who originally created the bot. However, lazy_robot had not used the bot for months leading up to his suspension. Others can be seen using the bot with their respective usernames like "laz" or "Paekyeom".
